Peeps - rather than the Malaga trip I think Catherine and I are going to cycle from London to Paris. I'm not sure I want to put my spanking new machine on a plane this early, and the London to Paris route is something we've wanted to do for a while. So if we can organise the days off at Easter, we'll be riding 300km from London to Newhaven, then Dieppe to Paris, with just rucksacks on our backs and credit cards in our pocket. Hope to ride up the Champs-Élysées on Easter Mon to catch the Eurostar home Tues. What daya think?

This whole etape business makes people do strange things. 'From London to Paris' to me sounds like a romantic trip for two, stroling down the Champs Elysees, lunch along the Seine... Instead, you make Catherine cycle all the way there, carry a huge backback (and yours too probably) give her a nice cup of coffee when you arrive, and then immediately back on the train! Great. She must like you lots.
300K madness. Still at least you can easily get a train home.
Also on the Champs Elysees you need t practice your "crossing the line" technique. Go for the classic - from 20 meters out you sit up in your saddle, straighten your jersey so the cameras get a good shot of the sponsors logo the raise bothe hands in salute
